K9 Da Chong

K9 Da Chong is a historical site in the Ba Vi area associated with Ho Chi Minh’s work from the late 1950s and with the wartime preservation of his body between 1969 and 1975.

Overview

Understand the place through its setting, meaning and everyday use.

Ho Chi Minh first stopped at Da Chong in May 1957 and later selected the wooded hill area as a secure working base for the central leadership. Construction of the principal two-storey house began in 1959 and was completed on 15 March 1960; the site became known by the code K9. Ho Chi Minh and senior leaders used it for meetings and to receive guests. After his death in September 1969, the site was adapted under the code K84 for the protection and preservation of his body during wartime. Official management sources state that the body was moved between protected locations multiple times before returning to Ba Dinh in July 1975. The site later opened for organized public remembrance and education. Current access procedures should be verified with the official K9/Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum management system.
