Current Tuyên Quang was formed in 2025 from the former Tuyên Quang and Hà Giang provinces. VietnamWaving treats the enlarged province as one discovery system with several powerful identities rather than mechanically joining two old province lists. The south is anchored by the Lô River, Tân Trào and Mỹ Lâm; the Gâm River rises into Na Hang–Lâm Bình's lake-and-karst world; the north opens through Quản Bạ and Yên Minh onto the UNESCO Global Geopark of the Đồng Văn Karst Plateau, Lũng Cú, Mã Pí Lèng and Nho Quế; and the west adds Hoàng Su Phì terraces, ancient Shan Tuyết tea, Chiêu Lầu Thi, Tây Côn Lĩnh and Xín Mần. The province is simultaneously a revolutionary homeland, mountain-water destination, geological showcase, multi-ethnic cultural region and international frontier.

Getting thereRoad is the primary mode. The operating Tuyên Quang–Phú Thọ Expressway strengthens access from the Hà Nội region. The Tuyên Quang–Hà Giang expressway is a phased project and must be described according to completed sections rather than as a fully operating corridor.
Plan around real destination clusters rather than invented route entities: Tuyên Quang–Tân Trào; Na Hang–Lâm Bình; Chiêm Hóa–Hàm Yên; Quản Bạ–Yên Minh; Đồng Văn; Mã Pí Lèng–Mèo Vạc–Nho Quế; Hoàng Su Phì–Xín Mần; Vị Xuyên–Tây Côn Lĩnh; and Bắc Mê–Gâm River.

Potential advantages
A rare combined tourism portfolio: Tân Trào revolutionary heritage, Na Hang–Lâm Bình, the Đồng Văn UNESCO Global Geopark, Mã Pí Lèng–Nho Quế and Hoàng Su Phì
Nearly 270 km of international frontier with Yunnan and the Thanh Thủy international border gate
Large forest resources and established wood-processing and plantation value chains
Strong specialty-agriculture identities including Shan Tuyết tea and Hàm Yên citrus
Major hydropower and river systems
Improving southern expressway access and a strategic north–south expressway programme
Due diligence
The province's very large north–south extent creates high internal travel and logistics costs
Mountain roads face fog, landslides, flash floods and seasonal disruption
Tourism growth on the Đồng Văn plateau and at Nho Quế must protect geology, water, settlement character and community life
Terrace tourism in Hoàng Su Phì must remain compatible with active agriculture and local land use
Mining and hydropower require strong watershed, biodiversity and landscape safeguards
Border commerce is exposed to cross-border policy and customs changes
The Tuyên Quang–Hà Giang expressway must not be represented as fully operating until actual completed sections support that claim
